About the position

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a qualified Facilities Maintenance Support Technician Specialist to join our manufacturing location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and requires a strong background in industrial maintenance. The successful candidate will work primarily on the third shift, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday, with an hourly pay rate of $28.85, plus a $1.00 per hour differential for third shift work. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of industrial equipment, including large tonnage chillers and HVAC systems. You will need to possess a solid understanding of utilities such as electrical, gas, water/sewer, and wastewater treatment processes. The ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic prints is essential, as is the diagnostic capability to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. You will be expected to work collaboratively within a team environment and be prepared to work at heights and in outdoor conditions as necessary. Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, as well as the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods. Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus, as is familiarity with air compressors. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair industrial equipment, including large tonnage chillers and HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic prints to assist in repairs.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Perform maintenance on utilities including electrical, gas, water/sewer, and wastewater systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while working at heights and in outdoor conditions.
  • Lift and move equipment and materials as needed, up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with large tonnage chillers and related support equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC chilled water/steam air handling units and DX units.
  • Mechanical knowledge including shafts, bearings, chains, and sprockets.
  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic prints.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to separate mechanical and electrical issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Wastewater treatment experience (pre-treatment).
  • Plumbing experience.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication.
