About the position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing mechanical repair, general maintenance, and handyman services for various church properties, including the Family Life Center and Rectory. This role also involves operating and maintaining audio-visual and livestreaming equipment to ensure high-quality production for church services and events. The technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and safety of church facilities while embodying the core values of the Diocese of Orlando.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical repair and general maintenance for church properties.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment for services and events.
• Assist in setting up and managing livestreaming equipment for broadcasting services.
• Perform preventative maintenance actions such as bulb and HVAC filter replacement.
• Make minor plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices during maintenance tasks.
• Complete and document accident reports for incidents occurring on church property.
• Set up and breakdown events and multifunction rooms for various activities.

Requirements

• Experience in building maintenance, preferably one year or more.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used for building maintenance.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required.
• Familiarity with safety regulations in maintenance and facilities management.
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic records of work performed and supplies used.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with general computer operations and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to learn basic audio/visual and livestreaming equipment.
