About the position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Crane Aerospace & Electronics is responsible for the maintenance, construction, and repair of buildings, infrastructure, manufacturing tools, and production equipment with minimal supervision. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency of the facility, supporting the Defense Power business in providing high-power solutions for aerospace and defense applications.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair plant equipment such as plating equipment, pumps, valves, and motors to meet manufacturer's specifications and plant standards.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve machine or equipment process and control problems using lean tools, data analysis, test, measurement, and observation to repair or improve equipment productivity and performance.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including flooring, sheet rock, painting, boiler and air conditioning systems, and general interior carpentry and building maintenance.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems to support plant and building operations.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring to provide power and lighting for all plant and building operations.
  • Perform general exterior maintenance including building upkeep and repairs, parking lot maintenance, and lawn/landscaping upkeep.
  • Conduct general record keeping and filing.
  • Occasionally pick up, deliver, and/or move and assemble tools, equipment, or furniture.
  • Work with hazardous materials such as paints and solvents, including storage and shipment.

Requirements

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in construction, equipment repairs, or industrial maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of carpentry/construction, general mechanics, electricity, and plumbing tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste storage and handling.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and explain mechanical equipment design drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and tact to maintain a productive and collaborative environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous HVAC experience is a plus.
  • Trade school training in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and/or carpentry.
