About the position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on buildings and equipment, ensuring the functionality and safety of the facility. This role involves a variety of tasks including machine service and repair, low-voltage electrical work, HVAC maintenance, plumbing, and carpentry. The technician supports manufacturing operations and oversees the maintenance of the facility's infrastructure, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building and equipment maintenance tasks including machine service and repair.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and machine breakdown repairs on CNC and manual machines.
  • Repair and maintain the facility's infrastructure and equipment in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Maintain property exterior grounds and ensure cleanliness of office and manufacturing areas.
  • Schedule and supervise the work of contractors and service providers for various maintenance tasks.
  • Perform general electrical repair and maintenance, including installation of electronic controls.
  • Adhere to routine preventive maintenance schedules and document actions performed.
  • Manage equipment parts and supplies inventory, placing orders as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Participate in safety training and continuous improvement programs.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of general facilities maintenance experience.
  • Solid knowledge of general building maintenance services including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in using repair manuals and operational diagrams for equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to operate hand and power equipment safely and productively.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
  • Customer service-oriented with effective relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with contract administration and occupational hazards.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standard safety practices.
