As a Facilities Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our facilities, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of safety and functionality. This position is based in Albuquerque, NM, specifically at our Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town, and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $19.00, depending on experience. The role involves a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance, repair, construction, and remodeling of facilities and equipment. You will be responsible for tasks that include plumbing, electrical work, HVAC maintenance, light equipment operation, carpentry, masonry, and painting. In this position, you will work under the direction of the Director of Facilities, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with guests, team members, and external partners. Your responsibilities will include responding to work orders, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that all facility equipment is maintained according to the preventative maintenance plan. You will also conduct inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. Regular maintenance tasks will include basic electrical and plumbing repairs, painting, drywall work, tile installation, and landscaping. Additionally, you may be tasked with maintaining pools, spas, and hot tubs as needed. The Facilities Technician position is essential to ensuring that our properties remain safe, functional, and welcoming for all guests and staff. You will be expected to adhere to all safety, sanitation, and health regulations while performing your duties. This role may require you to work in various conditions, including outdoors, indoors, and in confined spaces, and you should be prepared for physical demands such as lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in your schedule is also important, as you may be required to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment.
  • Respond to work orders in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety and functionality.
  • Maintain facility equipment according to the preventative maintenance plan.
  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, tile, and landscaping tasks.
  • Repair and treat structures such as floors, sinks, showers, walls, windows, carpets, roofs, locks, and drains.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and health regulations and policies.
  • Maintain pools, spas, and hot tubs as needed.
  • Work under the direction of the Director of Facilities.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with guests and team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of Facilities and Maintenance or Construction experience preferred.
  • Experience as an Automotive/Mechanical Technician or in conducting regular maintenance and inspections of mechanical systems is preferred but not required.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb, lift, stoop, or carry equipment and materials.
  • Must have a current, unrestricted driver's license and maintain company group insurance.
