About the position

Heritage Companies is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our team in Albuquerque, NM, at the Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town. This full-time hourly position offers a competitive wage ranging from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The Facilities Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of semi-skilled tasks to maintain, repair, construct, and remodel facilities and equipment. This includes working with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, light equipment operation, carpentry, masonry, and painting. The ideal candidate will embody the culture, spirit, and traditions of New Mexico while contributing to a positive work environment focused on employee experience. In this role, the Facilities Technician will work under the direction of the Director of Facilities and will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and positivity when interacting with guests, team members, and external partners. Responsibilities will include responding to work orders, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that all work activities conform to safety, sanitation, and health regulations. The technician will also conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, and will be involved in general maintenance tasks such as basic electrical work, plumbing, painting, drywall, tile work, and landscaping. Additional duties may include the maintenance of pools, spas, and hot tubs as needed across various properties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of semi-skilled tasks to maintain, repair, construct, and remodel facilities and equipment.
  • Work under the direction of the Director of Facilities.
  • Maintain a high level of positivity and professionalism with guests, team members, and external partners.
  • Respond to work orders and perform routine facilities and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain facility equipment as indicated by the preventative maintenance plan.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Conduct regular building and facilities general maintenance including basic electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, tile, and landscaping.
  • Repair and treat structures such as floors, sinks, showers, walls, windows, carpets, roofs, locks, and drains.
  • Ensure that all work activities conform to safety, sanitation, and health regulations and policies.
  • May include maintenance of pools, spas, and hot tubs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the functions of this position.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Automotive/Mechanical Technician or experience in conducting regular maintenance and inspections of mechanical systems is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Facilities and Maintenance or Construction experience is preferred.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to walk long distances, stand for a period of time, climb, lift, stoop, or carry equipment and materials.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a current, unrestricted driver's license and be able to maintain company group insurance.
