The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Answers in Genesis is a crucial role that involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining and repairing machines, equipment, and general office appliances. This position requires a versatile individual who can handle both indoor and outdoor activities, including maintenance in restrooms, kitchens, and offices throughout the property. The technician will be responsible for a wide range of duties as directed by the facilities manager, which includes building maintenance, carpentry, painting, general repairs, pest control, and landscaping. Responsibilities include maintaining high-quality service standards in safety, hospitality, presentation, and efficiency. The technician will also be involved in resolving maintenance issues, ensuring the proper use of tools, and conducting evaluations of workshop equipment. Additionally, the technician will assist in various phases of building and construction, perform repairs on ceilings, floors, and walls, and ensure the comfort of staff and visitors by maintaining furniture and fixtures. The role also includes inspecting and repairing equipment such as refrigerators and air conditioners, as well as installing and repairing fire and emergency alarms. Overall, the Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and functionality of the facilities while embodying the organization's values.

Responsibilities

• Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.

• Work with the overall development of a SERVE culture.
• Carry out all duties necessary in resolving reactionary activities and report the need for further maintenance and safety to supervising staff.
• Ensure the proper use of all tools in the workshop for cutting, bending and welding of equipment.
• Carry out detailed evaluation of workshop equipment to ensure they are in good condition for proper functioning.
• Assist other workers in different phases of building, construction and general maintenance and review works performed by them to ensure they are in good condition.
• Carry out repairs on ceilings, floors and walls by combining plaster or spackle and painting.
• Take out damaged sheets and replace them with sheet rock and finishing seams.
• Inspect equipment such as refrigerators and air conditioners for proper cleaning, speed, temperature and adequate lubrication.
• Ensure proper repair and finishing of doors, desks, tables, chairs and other furniture to ensure comfort of staff and visitors.
• Repair and change locks in the building and perform complex lock servicing to ensure maximum safety.
• Perform the installation and repairs of fire and emergency alarms and other appliances used to call for help in emergencies.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
