About the position

The Facilities Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of facility management, ensuring optimal service delivery and responsiveness across various zones. This role involves collaboration with multiple stakeholders to enhance work prioritization and resource deployment, while also focusing on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility performance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain daily relationships with GM LFMRs and occupants to support GM-WTC's core business.
  • Direct schedulers and maintenance trades for timely completion of work requests and maintenance tasks.
  • Engage with various teams including Work Control Center, Safety Coordinator, and Contracts Manager for seamless operations.
  • Oversee cross-training of workforce and adjust assignments to meet operational requirements.
  • Compile Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to initiate Business Process Development events for continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of campus-wide facilities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to LFMR and occupants' needs and concerns, optimizing resources for service quality.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of work order processes to improve data integrity and user proficiency.
  • Monitor status and completion rates of work orders and ensure customer communication regarding outcomes.
  • Support the Sr. Operations Manager in preparing budgets and reports on spending and performance.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Facility Management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant technical experience as Facility Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of integrated facility operations and systems maintenance in engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with IWMS/CMMS in large scale technical operations.
  • Administrative experience related to operations management, including budgeting and staff supervision.
  • Technical expertise in process-driven, systems-based maintenance.

  • Certification by recognized professional bodies (IFMA, SMRP, AFE).
  • Coursework indicating advanced professional development.
  • Knowledge of GM and WTC processes, systems, priorities, and values.
  • Familiarity with Lean and sustainable quality processes.
