About the position

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of campus facilities. This role includes managing community support services related to educational programming, planning, construction, and maintenance of various facilities. The manager will handle employee management tasks such as hiring, training, and performance evaluations, while also ensuring effective communication and reporting to both clients and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct day-to-day campus general maintenance and facilities operations.
• Manage community support services related to site educational programming, planning, construction, and maintenance.
• Interview, hire, orient, and train employees.
• Plan, assign, and direct work for maintenance personnel.
• Appraise performance reviews and address employee complaints.
• Inspect buildings and grounds to evaluate support services effectiveness.
• Process general maintenance requests and specific assigned PM activities.
• Plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates and contracts.
• Develop long-range plans and capital outlay requirements for buildings and grounds.
• Act as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
• Inspect construction and installation progress for compliance with specifications.
• Review service contracts for compliance and quality of deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 5-10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Electrical and plumbing experience required.
• Strong computer skills including Office 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with CMMS (Asset Essentials) Software and MS Project.

Nice-to-haves

• Formal Facilities Management Certification (BOMI, CFM, etc. preferred)
• HVAC and Carpentry licenses.
