About the position

The Facilities Planner / Account Manager at the University of Washington plays a crucial role in enhancing the utilization of the University's physical infrastructure and campus space. This position involves working closely with academic and administrative leaders to translate their mission needs into facility requirements, including renovations, new constructions, and leases, while ensuring alignment with the capital budget. The Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between client units and the Facilities Campus Architecture and Planning team, managing relationships and facilitating effective project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout project formation and development.
  • Collect and analyze client needs to ensure they are accurately characterized and addressed.
  • Coordinate with various departments to develop facility needs and plans, including capital projects for new construction and renovation.
  • Prepare special reports, feasibility studies, and educational facilities programming documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with CAP and other university units to ensure information sharing and guidance.
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with various stakeholders and resolve issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Planning, Engineering, or related field.
  • Six to eight years of related work experience in facilities management, construction project management, or account management.
