About the position

The Facilities Planner/Drafter at BAE Systems is responsible for managing multiple design projects related to the maintenance and improvement of critical building operations and manufacturing processes. This role involves collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate design specifications and project execution across various facilities. The position requires a strong understanding of facilities management and drafting, with a focus on optimizing space utilization and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the design of plant rearrangement and engineering equipment installation projects from concept to execution.
• Collect data, formulate design specifications, and develop a complete engineered design package for contractor bidding or internal use.
• Assess and evaluate physical space requirements and recommend plans to meet organizational needs.
• Plan and coordinate internal moves for new hires and existing employee transfers.
• Maintain real-time employee, function, and program location using internal space planning software and CAD.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes such as OSHA and NFPA.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants on design aspects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 4 years of design/planning experience in facilities management or building operations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves
