About the position

The Facilities Program Specialist position is responsible for providing technical, logistical, and support services within the Office of Finance and Operations, specifically in the Facilities and Logistics Services Division. The role involves project management and facility management, ensuring effective cost management and compliance with regulations while collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize space and facility usage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reviews and evaluations of technical proposals from architects, engineers, and managers to ensure effective cost management for public works.
  • Maintain liaison and coordination with various POs to plan requirements related to facility management.
  • Function as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for facility-related contracts, assisting in planning space assignment projects.
  • Conduct studies for planning space assignments and reviewing agency administrative space requirements against established standards.
  • Collaborate with a team of facilities and real estate professionals to support agency missions and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and provide input to the operating budget, managing current expenditures for infrastructure maintenance and operations.
  • Interpret contract provisions for contractor performance evaluation and prepare reports on contractor performance.

Requirements

  • One year of experience equivalent to at least a GS-11 performing facility management services.
  • Experience managing facility construction projects involving multiple trades.
  • Experience providing recommendations for improving operational effectiveness and compliance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of building codes and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate current situations for operational improvements.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, budget, and billing processes related to facility services.
