The Facilities Projects Technical Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating complex technical aspects of major projects within Facilities Operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all project activities meet technical and agency requirements while providing expertise in various technical areas. The coordinator will take principal responsibility for activities associated with complex technical projects, acting as a project administrator or leader, and may supervise other staff. The role involves close collaboration with various officials and subject matter experts to ensure successful integration and completion of projects and operations. The coordinator will also assist in developing technical program guidelines and procedures, implementing and maintaining programs with minimal supervision. In this role, the coordinator will initiate, plan, coordinate, and oversee project assignments that require advanced technical expertise. They will establish written specifications and sources for services, products, and contractors related to construction, information technology, and operations. The coordinator will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate technical specification requirements, advising management on the most efficient means to achieve project goals. They will manage technical assignments through all phases, including design, development, construction, and maintenance, while troubleshooting technical problems and ensuring project progress is on schedule. The coordinator will serve as the principal agency liaison for contractors and consultants, analyzing results, monitoring progress, and negotiating change management implementation. They will develop technical guidance, training, and customer communications, while also examining best practices from other organizations to acquire cutting-edge technologies. The coordinator will report to senior managers on progress and prepare annual budgets while managing contracts and performing other related duties as assigned.
