About the position

Denali Therapeutics is seeking a Facilities Specialist to provide essential facilities services in a GMP manufacturing, lab, and warehouse environment. This role is critical in ensuring that all operations comply with the documentation and controls required in a regulated setting. The Facilities Specialist will be responsible for performing minor preventative maintenance and repairs on various systems, including HVAC systems, air compressors, vacuum pumps, and bulk storage systems for LN2, CO2, and N2. Additionally, the role involves assisting with the maintenance of lab equipment such as incubators and biological safety cabinets (BSCs). The Facilities Specialist will also maintain, monitor, and repair lighting systems, building signage, restroom fixtures, and partitions. Other responsibilities include maintaining door locks, badge readers, and door closers, as well as repairing cabinetry, lab furniture, office furniture, and window shades. The position requires minor electrical and plumbing work, scheduling and coordinating vendor maintenance, and recording critical facility-system data during daily rounds. The role may also involve responding to off-hours building alarms and participating in occasional planned services outside of normal working hours, including weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule. Accurate and timely recording of work time is essential, and adherence to company timekeeping policies is required. The ideal candidate will possess an associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience, with a working understanding of electrical and plumbing systems being beneficial. Strong communication skills, the ability to work unsupervised, and the capability to manage multiple tasks effectively are crucial for success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Provide facilities services in a GMP manufacturing, lab and warehouse site, per the documentation and controls required in a regulated environment
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems, air compressors, vacuum pumps, LN2 bulk storage system, CO2 bulk storage system, N2 generators, BMS, O2 sensors, and deionized water system
  • Assist with maintenance on various lab equipment: incubators and BSCs
  • Maintain, monitor, and repair lighting systems
  • Maintain, monitor, and repair building signage
  • Install and maintain seismic restraints
  • Repair restroom fixtures and partitions as needed
  • Maintain door locks, badge readers, and door closers
  • Repair cabinetry, lab furniture, office furniture, and window shades
  • Repair dry-wall and perform paint touch-up as needed
  • Conduct minor electrical work and plumbing work
  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee vendor performed maintenance
  • Record critical facility-system data during daily rounds
  • Assist with off hours building alarms and some occasional off hours planned services
  • Accurate and timely recording of work time by clocking in and out using designated timekeeping systems
  • Adhere to company timekeeping policies, including rules regarding overtime, meal breaks, and reporting procedures for any discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline, trade school, or equivalent experience
  • Working understanding of electrical and plumbing systems is helpful
  • Construction experience is a plus
  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage time while performing multiple jobs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
