About the position

The Facilities Supervisor at Ultium Cells is responsible for leading the facility's hourly workforce, which includes various teams such as housekeeping and grounds teams. This role involves overseeing service contracts, ensuring high-quality delivery of facilities services, and maintaining the facility to support the production of battery cells for electric vehicles. The supervisor will also focus on team development, safety enforcement, and operational coordination within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate, lead and mentor the activities of team members.
  • Plan, establish and assign work schedules, assignments, and work orders to ensure department goals are met.
  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment.
  • Facilitate team member development and growth by reviewing and managing performance through feedback and coaching.
  • Enforce safety and other applicable rules and regulations.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Document and follow up on SOP's.
  • Maintain related records, logs, and paperwork.
  • Ensure all team members are utilizing time effectively.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Observe work and monitor completion of tasks and work orders.
  • Confer with management, peers and others to resolve team member's problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures, specifications, blueprints, and job orders for team members.
  • Coordinate Work Orders, Production, Vendors & Contractors.
  • Lead and foster a culture that values innovation, personal ownership and overall Ultium values.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical background including high voltage distribution (2-4 years experience).
  • Experience in common facility components such as hot liquid boilers, steam boilers, chilled water systems, HVAC systems, and dust collection systems (2-4 years).
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and building management systems.
  • Ability to track, develop, and interpret metrics.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills for effective communication across shifts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
