About the position

The Housekeeping Associate at Abbott Park, IL, is responsible for performing facility cleaning and support tasks essential for maintaining a safe and compliant manufacturing and research environment. This role requires adherence to quality and regulatory standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and involves working second shift hours from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform regulated cleaning procedures in production laboratories, manufacturing support laboratories, research laboratories, and common support areas.
• Execute cross-contamination cleaning methods in areas with radioactive or biohazardous materials.
• Prepare housekeeping equipment for autoclaving or disposal of radioactive and biohazard waste.
• Monitor and dispose of cold waste from various laboratory and support areas.
• Complete GMP documentation attestation logs, work orders, and training documents.
• Operate handheld electronic documentation units for GMP documentation.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to GMP regulated mixing instructions.
• Perform microbial control cleaning techniques on walls, ceilings, and floors based on GMP guidelines.
• Complete preventive maintenance work orders to meet GMP cleaning requirements.
• Operate various types of wet/dry battery and electric equipment, including floor scrubbers and sweepers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on housekeeping equipment and support recycling programs.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of relevant experience

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to read and comprehend written information including Corporate Quality Documents and Safety Guidelines.
• Capability to complete accurate and legible written records in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Proficiency in operating a computer for compliance training and documentation.
