About the position

As a Maintenance Mechanic at our client, a leading professional services and investment management firm specializing in real estate, you will play a crucial role in the Facilities team, supporting building maintenance and operations. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and strong technical skills to ensure the smooth functioning of various building components. You will be responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of essential building elements, including locks, doors, and fixtures. Your expertise will also extend to maintaining and repairing plumbing components such as toilets, sinks, and water heaters, ensuring that all facilities are in optimal working condition. In addition to plumbing and general repairs, you will complete handyman tasks, which may include painting and minor office furniture repairs. Conducting facility inspections is a key responsibility, as you will need to respond to emergencies and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Maintaining accurate documentation for building systems and performing HVAC maintenance will also be part of your daily tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and report on maintenance activities. Responsibilities

  • Perform repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various building components, including locks, doors, and fixtures.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing components such as toilets, sinks, and water heaters.
  • Complete general handyman tasks, including painting and minor office furniture repairs.
  • Conduct facility inspections, respond to emergencies, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Maintain documentation for building systems and perform HVAC maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is desirable.
  • 3+ years of experience in building repair, maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform overhead work, and handle various physical tasks.
