About the position

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Supervisor for janitorial services within the Police Department. This role involves overseeing and participating in cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring that all police facilities are well-maintained. The candidate must be flexible to work various shifts and be available for on-call duties as needed. Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in janitorial services for the Police Department.
• Schedule janitorial staff and monitor work orders.
• Maintain, repair, and clean police facilities, including restrooms and offices.
• Perform custodial tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Inspect and repair structures and buildings as needed.
• Respond to emergency calls and perform maintenance tasks.
• Operate specialized equipment and perform minor repairs on municipal facilities.
• Participate in landscaping duties and maintain municipal parks and grounds.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of related experience using motor-powered equipment and hand tools.
• CDL Class B with airbrakes may be required depending on the department.
• Public Ornamental and Turf Pest Control license may be required.
• Preference for candidates with prior supervisory janitorial experience in a government or police agency.
