About the position

The Facility Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a crucial role in the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the facility. This position involves participating in decision-making processes to achieve operational and financial goals, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and leading various departments to maintain fiscal health and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly in compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare corporate required reports including Monthly Operating Report and Forecasts accurately and on time.
  • Implement accounting and business office policies to facilitate clean audits with no material deficiencies.
  • Direct Revenue Cycle operations to optimize accounts receivable collection and minimize uncompensated care.
  • Maintain knowledge of reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payments and revenue deductions.
  • Supervise departments including Accounting and Patient Accounting as assigned by the CEO.
  • Lead and manage a team through hiring, training, and performance assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with Group Purchasing contracts and monitor supply costs.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, providing variance analysis and strategic planning support.
  • Provide financial leadership and training to facility managers on financial matters.
  • Participate in managed care contracting and business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years financial management experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Previous Behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with proprietary healthcare systems preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis and technical accounting skills required.
  • Proficiency in software packages including Excel and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory/management role in a healthcare setting.
