About the position

The Facility Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a crucial role in the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the facility. This position involves participating in financial and functional decision-making processes to achieve operational and financial goals. The CFO is accountable for the day-to-day fiscal management and ensuring compliance with financial policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly in compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare corporate required reports including Monthly Operating Report and Forecasts accurately and on time.
  • Implement accounting and business office policies to facilitate clean audits.
  • Direct Revenue Cycle operations to optimize accounts receivable collections and minimize uncompensated care.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies.
  • Supervise various departments including Accounting and Patient Accounting as assigned by the CEO.
  • Lead and manage a team through hiring, training, and performance assessments.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, providing ongoing variance analysis.
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to facility managers and train them on financial matters.
  • Participate in managed care contracting and business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years financial management experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Previous Behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with a proprietary healthcare system preferred.
  • Proven financial analysis skills and strong technical accounting skills.
  • Experience with information technology and proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Five or more years of supervisory/management experience in healthcare setting required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial planning for new services including preparation of pro-formas.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with the CEO and facility managers.
