About the position

Milo's Tea Company is seeking a Facility Controller - Multi Site for Bessemer and Homewood, who will play a pivotal role in the Facility leadership team. This position is integral to the management of the facility, providing strong financial leadership and ensuring that all financial activities align with corporate policies and practices. The Facility Controller will be responsible for planning and coordinating the facility's budget and business planning activities, ensuring that financial direction is provided to enhance site performance. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Facility Manager and other leaders to explain financial results, identify inefficiencies, and lead the development of complex analyses aimed at improving operations. This role requires monitoring and implementing internal controls to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify potential risks. The Facility Controller will also review and analyze various financial improvement initiatives, generating creative alternatives and recommendations for managing costs of goods sold (COGS), headcount, and related operational expenses. In addition, the Facility Controller will direct the preparation and analysis of the annual strategic plan, capital plan, monthly operating results, trends, and operating forecasts to meet facility objectives. This position demands effective communication of variances to management, along with recommended actions to address any discrepancies. The Facility Controller must work across organizational boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve both facility and corporate objectives, sharing best practices across the finance team to drive process improvements and enhance financial modeling. Furthermore, the role includes providing proactive consultation and education on complex financial and operational matters to departmental leaders, ensuring compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and local statutory requirements. The Facility Controller will act as a financial business partner to the Operations and Supply Chain Teams, embodying Milo's commitment to responsibility, which encompasses environmental, social, and corporate governance components. The position also includes Food Safety Responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Facility Manager and other leaders to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.
  • Monitors and implements Facility internal controls to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
  • Reviews and analyzes various financial improvement initiatives including modeling and generating creative alternatives and recommendations for managing COGS, headcount, and related operational expenses.
  • Directs the preparation and analysis of the annual strategic plan, capital plan, monthly operating results, trends, capital projects and operating forecasts to meet facility objectives.
  • Analyzes variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions.
  • Works across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve Facility or corporate objectives.
  • Shares best practices across finance team, e.g. process improvements, financial modeling and procedures changes.
  • Provides proactive consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders to drive business decisions.
  • Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements.
  • Acts as financial business partner to Operations and Supply Chain Teams.
  • Invests in and exemplifies Milo's Responsibility commitment, including environmental, social, and corporate governance components.
  • Handles Food Safety Responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong financial leadership skills with experience in facility management.
  • Proven ability to plan and coordinate budgets and business planning activities.
  • Experience in monitoring and implementing internal controls to ensure reporting integrity.
  • Ability to analyze financial improvement initiatives and generate creative alternatives.
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing strategic plans, capital plans, and operating forecasts.
