About the position

The Facility Director at North YMCA is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the facility, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment that aligns with the YMCA's mission. This role involves leading a maintenance team, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The director collaborates with the Executive Director to develop maintenance plans and is committed to fostering a collaborative and cause-driven culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and grounds upkeep.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and manage maintenance plans and budgets.
• Oversee preventative and restorative maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and building standards.
• Conduct weekly building walk-throughs to inspect for maintenance issues.
• Schedule and implement preventative and restorative maintenance for building, equipment, and vehicles.
• Maintain logs, records, and documentation for compliance with municipal codes and association policy.
• Manage relationships with vendors and order necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Serve as building supervisor during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, committees, and special events.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of seven years supervising maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of facility operations, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use email and work tickets.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• YMCA Team Leader certification or willingness to obtain within 24 months.
• Knowledge of procedures, safety measures, and commonly used concepts within facilities management.
