About the position

The Facility Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of facility maintenance and projects for Car Pros Automotive Group's dealerships located in California and Washington. This role involves assisting in the budgeting, organization, scheduling, and implementation of various projects. The Facility Engineering Manager will work closely with the Executive Management Team to ensure the successful completion of construction and maintenance activities. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential maintenance and construction needs, as well as providing leadership and management throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to completion. In this role, the Facility Engineering Manager will conduct in-depth inspections of each project to schedule deliverables, estimate costs, and communicate the necessary time, money, and resources required for project completion. The manager will oversee all onsite and offsite maintenance and construction projects, ensuring compliance with building and safety regulations. Coordination and management of maintenance staff and subcontractors are essential, as is the ability to negotiate contractor bids and respond promptly to emergencies. The Facility Engineering Manager will also maintain contractual conditions of performance, review work progress daily, and assist in preparing and delivering internal and external reports related to job status. This role requires strong negotiation skills for terms of agreements and a leadership role in obtaining necessary permits and licenses. The manager must be capable of analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks while ensuring quality construction standards and proper construction techniques are followed. Interaction with contractors and construction teams is crucial to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications. Additionally, the manager will provide input to strategic decisions affecting the functional area of responsibility and resolve escalated issues that arise from operations, requiring coordination with other departments. Maintaining a safe work environment for customers and employees is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage facility maintenance and projects for California and Washington dealerships.
  • Assist in budgeting, organization, scheduling, and implementation of projects.
  • Work closely with the Executive Management Team on construction and maintenance activities.
  • Identify potential maintenance and construction needs.
  • Provide leadership and management oversight from project conception to completion.
  • Inspect projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Communicate required time, money, and resources needed for project completion.

  • Coordinate, direct, and manage maintenance staff and subcontractors.
