The Facility Maintenance position requires significant climbing, kneeling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive movement. You will be involved in the overall upkeep of Facilities across all Grant Aviation bases. Ranging from repairs to preventative maintenance to small projects, you will ensure the upkeep of the Facilities contributing to smooth daily operations at each Station. We are looking for a motivated, honest, and reliable Facilities Maintenance technician who makes safety a priority and has a proven track record of contributing to a safe work environment. This is a full-time, year-round position. This position will be based out of Anchorage, but the candidate will be expected to travel to our eight base locations across Southwest Alaska for up to two weeks at a time and perform a wide variety of duties in support of our base operations.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Initiating and completing tasks such as installation, repair, patch and paint of walls, ceiling, and floors
  • Repairing damaged office furniture
  • Installing building insulation
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and occasional diagnosis of furnace and boiler units
  • Trimming doors, windows, baseboard and inspecting facility units
  • Reporting hazardous conditions
  • Responding promptly to and managing work orders
  • Completing work with proper documentation and communication to stakeholders
  • Maintaining a positive working relationship across all the Operations facilities
  • Reading diagrams and blueprints
  • Working independently nights and weekends

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
  • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment
  • 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
  • 1+ years of metal and wood fabrication
  • 1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading
  • 1+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards
  • Experience in customer service (1 year)
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is a plus
  • The ability to use power and hand tools
  • Knowledgeable in utilizing computers to maintain logs, inventories and purchasing records
  • Ability to lift and/or move 100 lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Current Driver's License (Prefer applicants 25 years of age or older due to insurance requirements)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is a plus
