About the position

The Physical Plant Manager at Youth Opportunity Investments is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and management of the facility's physical plant, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for both staff and youth. This role involves managing building services, coordinating maintenance projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. The manager will also play a key role in fostering a positive environment and supporting the organization's mission to empower youth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects related to the maintenance of the building and grounds.
• Manage building services including maintenance, upkeep, and renovation projects.
• Perform building inspections to ensure a safe and presentable work environment.
• Oversee safety and security issues, including fire and burglary prevention.
• Assist program managers in identifying maintenance issues and coordinating repairs.
• Track and maintain facility fire and health inspections.
• Direct contractor activities for operating and maintaining facilities and grounds.
• Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.
• Participate in training and development activities as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related field.
• Prior project management experience highly desired.
• Good analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong organizing and planning skills.
