About the position

The Facility Maintenance Manager at House of Hope is responsible for maintaining safe operations, scheduling repairs, and overseeing renovation projects across multiple facilities in Salt Lake City. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with state regulations and maintaining the overall functionality of the properties. The position requires effective communication and organizational skills to manage various maintenance tasks and collaborate with staff and external service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operations of seven facilities in compliance with state licensure requirements and safety regulations.
  • Determine necessary repairs, schedule bids, and oversee projects involving plumbing, carpentry, electric, HVAC, and painting.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and repair personnel to build relationships and problem-solve.
  • Complete regular preventative maintenance on plumbing, hot water heaters, and other systems.
  • Move furniture and hang décor as needed to accommodate family sizes in rooms.
  • Maintain yards, including lawn mowing and basic landscaping year-round.
  • Conduct monthly fire inspections and checks on fire suppression equipment and alarms.
  • Coordinate with the development department for donation pickups as needed.
  • Conduct weekly walk-through inspections and provide reports to the Operations Director.
  • Assist with renovation projects and ensure compliance with funding sources.

Requirements

  • Experience with general maintenance and facility management.
  • Ability to organize tasks and work independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with diverse backgrounds.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving items.
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and drive vehicles, including vans.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet tracking.
