About the position

The Facility Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance operations at a manufacturing and distribution facility in Phoenix, AZ. This role is essential for achieving profitability and growth objectives while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. The manager will oversee maintenance strategies, ensure safety compliance, and engage with staff to promote a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and lead the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance, safety, and accountability.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring maintenance activities align with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Oversee maintenance of all manufacturing equipment to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage a preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
  • Utilize process improvement methodologies to drive efficiency gains and enhance overall plant performance.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies to ensure availability.
  • Engage with staff to promote a positive work culture, encouraging open communication and feedback.
  • Support training and professional development opportunities for maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of maintenance management experience in food manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, equipment troubleshooting, and food safety regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn new software as needed.
  • Previous experience with Great Plains is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
  • Previous experience in dairy manufacturing is strongly preferred.
