About the position

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all company facilities, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves managing building systems, coordinating repairs, and maintaining vendor relationships across multiple locations, particularly in the telecom sector.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of all facilities, including remote sites, terminals, and offices.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers to ensure timely and high-quality facilities-related work.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
  • Maintain telecom equipment rooms, data centers, and network operations centers with a focus on cooling and power systems.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure facilities meet industry standards.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for facilities operations, ensuring cost-effective resource use.
  • Plan and oversee facility-related projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure facilities support business needs effectively.
  • Establish and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize disruptions.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on facilities status and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities management, focusing on multi-site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and telecom infrastructure.
  • Experience managing relationships with external contractors and service providers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Proven leadership skills with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to telecom facilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex facilities issues.
  • Attention to detail to identify potential problems and maintain high standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or LEED certification.
