About the position

The Facility Maintenance Project Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction activities of various city facilities. This role involves administrative and management-level work, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively while supervising assigned staff. The position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills to address project-related issues and maintain quality control throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff.
  • Attends Pre-Construction and Pre-Bid conferences and other necessary construction meetings.
  • Coordinates and reviews design work performed by consultants.
  • Resolves conflicts and other related problems as a result of project construction.
  • Advises management on project problems, delays, quality control, and presents possible solutions.
  • Reviews contractors' requests for payment.
  • Inspects construction sites to determine project progress.
  • Prepares construction related reports, correspondence, and ordinances for City Council action.
  • Prepares and monitors budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in construction project management or supervisory experience.
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to develop and manage in-house work plans, read and write specifications, and read and develop drawings.
  • Experience with SAP and facility maintenance work order systems.
