About the position

As a Facility Maintenance Tech II at Flagship Facility Services, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment, with a strong emphasis on electrical maintenance and repairs. You will be expected to perform general building maintenance independently, assist in the repair and maintenance of various mechanical and electrical devices, and respond promptly to emergency situations and customer concerns. In this position, you will work with a variety of systems, including pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and HVAC systems. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting plumbing issues, performing minor HVAC repairs, and assisting with the installation and modification of building equipment systems. Your role will require you to possess a competent knowledge of the tools and equipment used in facility maintenance, as well as the ability to evaluate and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations. You will also need to maintain a neat appearance and continuously seek opportunities to improve the customer experience. This position may require you to work extended hours, including overtime, and may involve shift work and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance without supervision.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues and repair problems.
  • Work with cubes and furniture moves.
  • Perform minor HVAC repairs and maintenance under close supervision.
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.
  • Inspect electrical distribution systems for safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining and operating life safety/fire systems.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3-10 years of experience in commercial facilities and building maintenance.
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in electrical and HVAC or any similar combination of experience and education.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and maintenance.
  • Basic hand tools and battery drill ownership.
