About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on various building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Fabricate and repair components as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
  • Operate and maintain logic controllers for automated systems within the facility.
  • Conduct residential painting and other aesthetic improvements as required.
  • Use tools such as an ohmmeter for electrical testing and diagnostics.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of supplies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong electrical skills, with the ability to read schematics and perform repairs.
  • Leadership experience in supervising maintenance staff or projects is preferred.
  • Proficient in English for effective communication within the team and documentation purposes.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with 120/208/277/480 volt systems, both single and three phase.
  • Low voltage electrical and controls knowledge.
  • Experience with building automation and control systems.
