About the position

As a Facility Manager at Wis-Pak, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all functions of the facility are executed in a safe and efficient manner. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary tools and training to perform their jobs effectively. You will be responsible for ensuring that all employees are trained in plant safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA regulations, and sanitation protocols. In this role, you will actively lead the Management Team and collaborate closely with all members to develop and implement best practices for the facility. You will also be an integral member of the Food Safety Team, which requires you to stay updated with food safety training and practices. Additionally, you will participate in facility audits and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the facility using the Wis-Pak Performance Management System (WPMS). Your efforts will focus on evaluating, recommending, and implementing improvements in methods and processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee morale. You will be tasked with developing, justifying, recommending, and implementing a 5-year capital budget for the facility, ensuring that capital projects are completed on time and within budgetary constraints. Analyzing and reporting on variances between actual and budgeted figures will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will create an annual operating budget to control labor, manufacturing, and variance costs, aiming to achieve the standard total cost per case. Your role will also involve delivering improvements across four key manufacturing levers: Yield, Line Efficiency, Labor Efficiency, and Spending. You will maintain high safety standards by conducting audits, enforcing safety policies, and ensuring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Managing department personnel will be essential, as you will assign tasks, follow up on progress, and motivate the workforce while coaching for improvement when necessary. You will prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, directly overseeing staff to ensure production objectives are met at the lowest cost while adhering to company quality requirements and customer specifications. Regular meetings will be conducted to address facility issues, improve quality and productivity, and establish a monthly Town Hall meeting to communicate current events with the plant team. This position is not just about managing operations; it is about fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive work culture that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.
