The Facility Manager II at Stanford Health Care plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and maintenance of the facilities at the Palo Alto campus, which spans 2.1 million square feet. This position is integral to the operations of a Level 1 Trauma and Academic Medical Center, where the mission is to heal humanity through science and compassion. The Facility Manager II is responsible for performing routine risk assessments, overseeing maintenance activities, leading facility-related projects, and supporting larger construction initiatives while ensuring compliance with Environment of Care standards and codes. This role serves as a vital liaison between various stakeholders, including project teams, vendors, and external agencies, to facilitate effective communication and ensure the comfort and safety of patients, visitors, and staff. In this position, the Facility Manager II will manage and coordinate facility services, which include parking, security, cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance of building systems and equipment. The role requires proactive engagement with customers through regular site visits and interactions to maintain a healthy and safe work environment. Financial management is also a key responsibility, as the Facility Manager II will oversee cost centers, seek cost efficiencies, and manage forecasting and variance reporting. Regular inspections of the facilities will be conducted to assess condition, safety, and aesthetics, ensuring adherence to quality indicators and contractual obligations. The Facility Manager II will also be involved in developing policies and guidelines, implementing quality control measures, and managing the review and approval process for design work and project budgets. This position requires a strong understanding of building maintenance regulations and the ability to manage relationships with landlords and property managers. Additionally, the Facility Manager II will oversee the selection and contract negotiations for consultants, contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with Fire Life Safety regulations and other relevant standards. On-call availability during non-standard hours may be required to respond to emergencies, and the role may involve additional compensation for participation in the Facilities Services & Planning Leader on Call Program.
