About the position

The Facility Manager at Edwards AFB, CA, will oversee the maintenance and safety of facilities supporting the Air Force Research Lab. This role involves routine inspections, coordination of work orders, and ensuring compliance with Air Force regulations. The successful candidate will manage safety training, monitor laboratory conditions, and maintain records of maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate routine Lab exhaust hood airflow monitoring
• Inspect work offices and laboratories to evaluate work conditions
• Coordinate work orders and ensure labs are safe for outside repairmen
• Review and perform workplace inspections for compliance with Air Force Regulations
• Check for safety around electrical panels and compressed gas cylinders
• Inspect in-house vacuum systems and monitor safety systems
• Keep records of maintenance and repair work
• Coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and other personnel
• Serve as the building's Safety Representative and perform training on local policies
• Manage training records and attend scheduled safety meetings
• Schedule valve maintenance with customers to ensure compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• 2-4 years of related experience
• Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
• Mechanical knowledge and basic understanding of hand tooling and plumbing
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in construction, valve maintenance, piping, and HVAC
• Familiarity with technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
