About the position

The Facility Manager will oversee the comprehensive management of the facility's maintenance, repair, and overall appearance, including the outside grounds, sanitation, janitorial services, office space, security, and power industrial equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure that all aspects of facility management are executed efficiently and safely. The Facility Manager will utilize their extensive experience to lead personnel, ensuring that maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and effective manner, while also driving improvements in facility operations. In this position, the Facility Manager will be responsible for managing daily work and safety protocols for associates involved in various maintenance tasks, including building upkeep, grounds maintenance, and refrigeration systems. They will employ tracking software and preventative maintenance schedules to monitor and assign facility projects, ensuring quality and timely completion. A key aspect of this role is to foster a culture of safety, ensuring that all associates adhere to company policies and procedures, thereby minimizing the risk of injuries. The Facility Manager will also handle essential management functions such as staff selection, development, and performance reviews. They will maintain open communication with associates, addressing their concerns and explaining policies to promote a positive work environment. Additionally, the Facility Manager will develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This includes managing the selection and inventory of company assets, preparing budgets, and suggesting cost-reduction measures to enhance facility efficiency. Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations is critical, and the Facility Manager will conduct audits to ensure all necessary inspections and documentation are completed accurately. They will also coordinate with the Safety department to support training and emergency response efforts, ensuring a safe working environment for all associates. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall goals of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily work and safety of associates engaged in maintenance activities.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct audits to ensure all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Coordinate with the Safety department for training and emergency response activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience.
  • Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and governing bodies.
  • Knowledge of building, life/safety, and fire protection standards and codes.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Certificate, licenses, and registrations in refrigeration/HVAC preferred.
  • Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification preferred.
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Certification preferred.
  • Certificate in fleet trade/mechanic preferred.
