About the position

SVI, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is seeking a qualified Facility Manager for a contract in Groton, CT, covering various regions. The Facility Manager will be responsible for managing the development and implementation processes of the organization's services, which involve departmental or cross-functional teams focused on delivering new or existing projects. This role requires the development of work breakdown structures, identification of resource conflicts, management of schedule risks, and ensuring that deliverables are met on schedule. The Facility Manager will also provide technical writing skills and monitor the project from initiation through execution and closing. The work assignments will involve active participation in projects that may include design, development, and implementation, while evaluating, monitoring, and reporting on the status of project activities. The Facility Manager will provide project management (PM) and Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) services to facility locations across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This includes managing the development and implementation process involving departmental or cross-functional teams, developing project plans, supervising the execution of the Statement of Work requirements, and ensuring customer satisfaction through periodic project reviews, reports, and status briefings. Additionally, the Facility Manager will create and track task lists, develop timelines for deliverables, and execute a communications plan through scheduled meetings, emails, and telephone calls while managing company resources to ensure quality performance from all employees. The role also includes providing supervision, direction, coordination, and evaluation of contract personnel, ensuring that all project activities align with the organization's goals and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management (PM) and Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) services to facility locations in multiple states.
  • Manage the development and implementation process involving departmental or cross-functional teams.
  • Develop project plans and supervise the execution of the Statement of Work requirements.
  • Create and track task lists and develop timelines for deliverables.
  • Execute a communications plan through scheduled meetings, emails, and telephone calls.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through periodic project reviews, reports, and status briefings.
  • Provide supervision, direction, coordination, and evaluation of contract personnel.

Requirements

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of facility maintenance experience.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of project management (PM) or operations management (OM) experience on a facility maintenance contract.
  • Thirty (30) hours of OSHA safety class or equivalent within the past three (3) years.
  • Three (3) years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing a safety program on contracts of similar size ($10M) and complexity.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management.
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team setting.
  • Ability to manage multi-state departments and employees.

Nice-to-haves

  • Facility maintenance experience with the Department of Defense (DoD) preferred.
  • HVAC Mechanic/Stationary Engineer/Maintenance Mechanic experience or state license/certification desired.
