About the position

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing facilities management and ensuring the delivery of high-quality facility management services. This role involves providing leadership and direction to the operations team, aligning strategic goals with customer expectations, and maintaining a safety-first culture within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Set overall vision and leadership for the operations team.
  • Establish and execute strategic direction for operations and maintenance team in alignment with customer goals.
  • Supervise and coordinate all activities of staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct daily tours of the facility to inspect work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company's safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Establish and maintain a safety-first culture by promoting safe work practices.
  • Perform Safety Observation tours and assist the Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with site safety rules.
  • Develop training programs to enhance team technical capabilities.
  • Facilitate customer review and planning meetings.
  • Utilize data to develop trends and insights for continuous improvement in site performance.
  • Develop and maintain operating budgets for the site(s).
  • Manage site to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance indicators.
  • Implement environmentally preferred practices at all locations.
  • Lead or assist in site incident investigations and identify root causes of failures.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customer representatives.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to improve service delivery quality.
  • Responsible for staff training, performance reviews, and disciplinary measures.
  • Develop scope of services and assist in vendor negotiations for contracts.
  • Monitor inventory status and manage requests for materials and services.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, engineering technology, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of direct supervision in housekeeping/facility management operations required.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing 24/7 operations in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills.
  • Experience working with unions.
  • Ability to plan and manage within budget and time constraints.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
