About the position

The Facility Manager is responsible for planning, establishing, and directing a comprehensive facilities management program. This role involves coordinating maintenance, renovation, and upgrades of existing building infrastructure, ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of real property assets at the worksite. The Facility Manager provides expert management and technical guidance to staff, oversees construction projects, and ensures compliance with senior leadership directives.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert management and technical guidance to staff for construction projects and maintenance work.
• Coordinate alteration, repair, and replacement projects, preparing technical specifications and design drawings as needed.
• Direct and manage facilities engineering studies and reports, ensuring proper planning and funding.
• Perform technical reviews of designs and proposals, conducting feasibility studies for maintainability.
• Ensure project actions are understood and executed according to senior leadership decisions, addressing concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on complex, high-priority facilities management projects.
• Coordinate involvement of various engineering disciplines in project planning and execution.
• Support project planning, review, and construction phases, ensuring objectives are met.
• Develop and train facilities management personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience maintaining large commercial/industrial properties with knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and custodial activities.
• Experience managing a LEED certified complex or equivalent certification from a recognized body in facilities management.
