About the position

The Facility Manager at Alutiiq International Solutions, LLC is responsible for planning, establishing, and directing a comprehensive facilities management program. This role involves coordinating the maintenance, renovation, and upgrade of existing building infrastructure, ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of real property assets at the worksite. The Facility Manager will provide expert management and technical guidance to staff to accomplish construction projects, as well as recurring preventive and emergency maintenance and repair work. In this position, the Facility Manager will coordinate all alteration, repair, and replacement projects, which may include preparing technical specifications and developing design drawings for new projects. The role requires providing direction and technical guidance in the planning, funding, management, and direction of facilities engineering studies and reports. The Facility Manager will also perform technical reviews of designs and proposals developed either at the government site or by other agencies, conducting feasibility studies to determine the maintainability of proposed designs. The Facility Manager must ensure that all required project actions are understood and executed in accordance with the decisions and directions of senior leadership. This includes following up on decisions and ensuring the timely completion of required actions, while immediately bringing any identified concerns to the attention of the customer for action. Collaboration with key stakeholders is essential for planning complex, high-priority special projects involving facilities management. The Facility Manager will coordinate the involvement of various disciplines, including architectural, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty disciplines, and provide support throughout project planning, review, and construction phases. Additionally, the role involves developing and training facilities management personnel to ensure all project objectives are met and that resulting recommendations for action are sound and practical, including implementation plans.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate alteration, repair, and replacement projects, preparing technical specifications and design drawings as needed.
  • Provide direction in planning, funding, management, and direction of facilities engineering studies and reports.
  • Perform technical reviews of designs and proposals, conducting feasibility studies for maintainability.
  • Ensure project actions are understood and executed according to senior leadership's decisions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on complex, high-priority special projects.
  • Coordinate involvement of various disciplines in project planning and execution.
  • Develop and train facilities management personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience maintaining large commercial/industrial properties comparable in size to the Albuquerque Complex.
  • Fundamental knowledge of building systems, sequence of operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building management systems, and custodial activities.
  • Experience managing a LEED certified complex or equivalent certification from a recognized governing body related to commercial/industrial facilities management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) from the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) or equivalent certification.
