About the position

The Facility Nurse Manager is a licensed professional responsible for maintaining the standards of the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. This role involves assisting the director with all facility activities to ensure alignment with the company's mission and vision, providing leadership, and promoting staff development. The Facility Manager is accountable for safe and effective patient care, quality improvement, and guest relations, while also managing a diverse patient population from infants to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the nursing, radiology, and front office departments; provide conflict resolution for facility issues.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all internal communication.
  • Monitor patient service feedback and contribute to resolving complaints and service issues.
  • Responsible for hiring, termination, and coordinating necessary HR approvals.
  • Monitor, coach, develop, and evaluate the performance of staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate with respective Directors/Director of Nursing and Director of Operations on technical aspects.
  • Coordinate and conduct monthly facility meetings in collaboration with the Facility Medical Director.
  • Ensure staff is fully certified and facility inspections are current.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner.
  • Implement and educate on all new policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly work schedule for the department, schedule PTO, and minimize overtime.
  • Review all facility hours and submit them to payroll.
  • Cover any open nursing shifts in the ER if no one is available.
  • Orient new staff and maintain laboratory standards in accordance with CLIA, COLA, and TJC standards.
  • Serve as the facility Infection Control Nurse, maintaining infection control standards and educating staff.
  • Inform appropriate state and county organizations of any reportable infections and diseases.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure the facility maintains par levels of patient care supplies.
  • Provide direct patient care when required and model expected behavior to staff.
  • Effectively manage conflict in the facility and work with all departments to improve coordination of care.
  • Create and maintain a conducive atmosphere for employees' personal and professional growth.
  • Assist in managing patient volumes and flow processes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing, preferably with a Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Current registration and licensure with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the state or a Compact state.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience.
  • Must have a current BLS, ACLS, PALS, or ENPC from an American Heart Association (AHA) recognized course.
  • Experience obtaining and maintaining certification through BNE and state regulatory bodies.
