About the position

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. This role involves hands-on repairs, coordination with maintenance technicians, and management of external vendors and contractors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility management, technical maintenance skills, and the ability to lead complex projects while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee an organization's facilities, ensuring all systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are functioning optimally.
  • Implement SOP maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure longevity and reliability of facility systems and equipment.
  • Engage in technical repairs to plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance, repair, and renovation projects.
  • Negotiate contracts, ensure compliance with terms, and oversee the quality of work performed by external parties.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facility operations and safety.
  • Implement safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address any potential hazards promptly.
  • Lead facility-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and relocations.
  • Develop project plans, coordinate resources, monitor progress, and ensure timely and successful project completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in facility management; experience in a leadership role is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of facility systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and overseeing vendor relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
