About the position

The Facility Manager at Casa Pacifica plays a crucial role in safeguarding the facility and ensuring the safety of both youth and staff while fulfilling the organization's mission. Reporting to the Facility Manager Supervisor, this position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the campus, which includes monitoring the weekly campus schedule, scheduling and overseeing campus visits, managing security cameras, and coordinating with Community Care Licensing, county partners, and first responders. The Facility Manager is also tasked with overseeing campus safety by coordinating and executing safety drills and monitoring ongoing safety needs. Collaboration with the Admissions Department is essential for assisting with admissions and discharges as needed. The Facility Manager ensures that appropriate staff supervision ratios are maintained and allocates campus resources to meet the safety and care needs of the youth. This role involves supervising, protecting, and caring for youth both individually and in groups. In the absence of Residential Program Managers and Administrators, the Facility Manager serves as the on-site facility manager/administrator designee. Responsibilities also include facilitating post-incident debriefings, ensuring all debriefings are completed, and recording daily observations and incidents in the Facility Manager Report. Regular collaboration with campus leadership is necessary to address any campus issues. Additional duties include orienting youth and parents/guardians to the cottage milieu, conducting searches upon admission, providing required treatment according to individual treatment plans, teaching social skills, and participating in crisis intervention as necessary. The Facility Manager attends training programs and collaborates with assistant supervisors and program supervisors regarding youth and program concerns. This position also involves managing the online runaway application, overseeing visitations, and maintaining confidentiality in all matters related to personnel, operations, and clients. The Facility Manager may perform other duties as assigned, contributing to a safe and nurturing environment for the youth at Casa Pacifica.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the facility and ensure the safety of youth and staff.
  • Monitor the weekly campus schedule and oversee campus visits.
  • Manage campus security cameras and coordinate with Community Care Licensing and first responders.
  • Assist with coordination and execution of campus safety drills and monitor ongoing safety needs.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Department for admissions and discharges.
  • Ensure appropriate staff supervision ratios and allocate campus resources for youth safety and care.
  • Supervise, protect, and care for youth individually and in groups.
  • Serve as the on-site facility manager/administrator designee in the absence of Residential Program Managers and Administrators.
  • Facilitate post-incident debriefings and ensure completion of incident reports.
  • Record daily observations, incidents, and safety in the Facility Manager Report.
  • Attend bi-monthly campus Assistant Supervisors meetings to address campus issues.
  • Orient youth and parents/guardians to the cottage milieu as needed.
  • Conduct searches upon admission and return from the community, and manage contraband per policy.
  • Provide treatment in accordance with youth's individual treatment plans.
  • Teach youth social skills, personal competence, and self-esteem.
  • Participate in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention-approved de-escalation of youth as necessary.
  • Assist in crisis intervention when called upon.
  • Attend and participate in training programs and outside training events as requested.
  • Walk youth to designated activities and locations.
  • Collaborate with Facility Manager Supervisor to ensure consistent workflow within the Facility area.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of assigned records, files, and reports.
  • Complete documentation as needed, including incident reports and high-risk status logs.
  • Collaborate regularly with assistant supervisors and program supervisors over youth and program concerns.
  • Meet with Facility Manager Supervisor regarding youth challenges and progress.
  • May be assigned to a cottage as Mental Health Worker when needed.
  • Coordinate admissions and discharges of youth, overseeing property and transportation.
  • Manage the online runaway application and submit runaway reports as necessary.
  • Manage the Security Camera System for the campus and document inspections and patrols.
  • Conduct routine fire drills and inspect emergency boxes, filing work orders as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; two to four years of related experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children/adolescents or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 16-hour Facility Manager training from an approved instructor.
  • Casa Pacifica Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
  • Valid California Driver's License with an excellent driving record.
  • First Aid/CPR certified.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Good working understanding of youth and adolescent development, behavior management, and group process.
  • Aptitude to deal with severely emotionally disturbed adolescents in a residential setting.
