About the position

The Facility Manager at Stryker is responsible for managing the facilities to ensure a safe and compliant work environment that meets the needs of the business. This role involves overseeing various aspects of facility management, including reception, office space planning, and compliance with regulations. The Facility Manager will also support events, manage security systems, and coordinate with landlords for exterior projects, while driving continuous improvement in team functions and managing the performance of team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the facilities to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Oversee the reception of the facility to ensure adequate customer experience and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate personnel moves, office space planning, and renovation project work.
  • Support events including divisional, corporate, and HR events as needed.
  • Maintain the security system, including badge access and monitoring.
  • Manage mail, cleaning, meeting preparation, custodial, and food supplies for the location.
  • Coordinate with the landlord for exterior projects and compliance with lease requirements.
  • Engage in problem solving and consensus building in complex situations.
  • Drive site/divisional projects to continuously improve team functions.
  • Actively manage the performance of team members, including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide developmental opportunities and guidance for direct reports.
  • Manage the facilities budget and ensure delivery to targets.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and onboard employees while managing headcount.
  • Coach the team in work scheduling, planning, peer appraisals, and team interviewing.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in building maintenance/construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead large scale projects or initiatives.
  • Proficiency in team financial performance and asset management.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds.
