About the position

The Facility Operations Chiller Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of facilities technicians, ensuring efficient operations and maintenance of HVAC systems and other facility equipment. This role requires a strong background in facilities operations, maintenance, and supervisory experience, with a focus on safety and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide guidance to a team of facilities technicians, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback and coaching.
  • Coordinate and prioritize work orders and maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime.
  • Accomplish repairs for HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and building automation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards and promote a culture of safety among the team.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment repairs, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with external contractors to coordinate and schedule maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve facility operations.
  • Service, Repair, Maintain, Monitor and Adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters.

Requirements

  • Requires a two-year technical degree or two years of experience as an Operations & Maintenance Specialist, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
  • Proven experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.
  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA codes and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Metasys (BMS) and low voltage control systems.
  • Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and special maintenance events as needed.
  • Required to use a variety of hand and power tools or man lift.
  • Requires Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification.
  • May be required to possess a valid driver's license.
