About the position

The Facility Operations Manager at the Hoover Met Complex is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of various facilities within the complex, ensuring they are well-maintained and provide first-class experiences for guests. This role involves leading a team, coordinating events, and maintaining a clean and organized environment across multiple venues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Facility Operations Event Coordinators and Shift Leads through mentorship and delegation.
  • Manage part-time facility operations employees including hiring, training, evaluating, scheduling, and terminating.
  • Establish positive working relationships with the City of Hoover Park Maintenance, Public Works, and Parks & Recreation departments.
  • Collaborate with event management staff to ensure event setups and breakdowns are executed smoothly.
  • Work with event rightsholders to meet their expectations for events.
  • Develop and implement routine maintenance schedules for all facilities.
  • Coordinate schedules for during-event and post-event cleaning services.
  • Inspect the grounds daily to ensure a debris-free environment and evaluate cleaning staff responsibilities.
  • Monitor and maintain walkways, entryways, and flowerbeds to keep them clear of weeds and trash.
  • Submit work orders as necessary and maintain communication on their status.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.
  • Responsible for the daily opening and closing of the facility.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in facility management, recreation, sports management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in facility management or operations.
  • Prior experience managing various facilities and scheduling employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain them.
  • Current Certified Pool and Spa Operator certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
  • Current Forklift Operator certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
