About the position

As a Facility Operations Specialist with the Department of Defense, you will play a crucial role in advising management and staff on the interpretation of facilities policies, procedures, and laws. Your expertise will be essential in identifying deficiencies in the maintenance execution plan (MEP) and continuously developing and improving maintenance processes. You will evaluate the workflow operation of facility maintenance projects to ensure they are completed within budget and prescribed timeframes. Utilizing an asset management program such as MAXIMO, you will create projects for placement on various plans, including the maintenance execution plan (MEP), maintenance action plan (MAP), and early long-range maintenance execution plan (LRMP). Additionally, you will conduct facilities inspections to update the condition index (CI) to accurately reflect the actual conditions of the facilities. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to customer service. You will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and complete Project Requirements Packages and tracking projects from inception to completion. Your ability to effectively evaluate recommendations from the BUILDER program and create projects based on those evaluations will be critical to your success in this role. You will also be expected to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and providing status updates in a timely manner. This role is essential in ensuring that facility operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities

  • Advise management and staff on interpretation of facilities policies, procedures, and laws.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
  • Retired military members must adhere to specific appointment provisions.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • Must have a valid United States driver's license.
  • Must complete training and maintain a government credit card for travel.
  • May require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, including remote sites.
  • Must complete ethics orientation and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within specified timeframes.
