About the position

The Facility Operations Specialist will serve in the Facilities Department of the Naval Sea Systems Command, focusing on sustainable operations and maintenance plans for NAVSEA occupied facilities. This role involves liaising between NAVFAC and NAVSEA, managing facility-related issues, and ensuring optimal resource utilization for facility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement sustainable operations and maintenance plans.
  • Serve as the liaison between NAVFAC and NAVSEA.
  • Provide updates to NAVSEA 10F on facility issues and work efforts.
  • Assist in prioritizing fiscal year requirements for NAVSEA funded projects.
  • Induct NAVSEA requirements through the NAVFAC Work Induction Board (WIB).
  • Attend periodic NAVSEA/NAVFAC meetings to address facility-related problems.
  • Update Property Record Cards for NAVSEA occupied facilities.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of asset information in MAXIMO.
  • Provide periodic reports from COGNOS, MAXIMO, and other NAVFAC E-Systems.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating cost estimates and long-range budget projections for facility maintenance and construction projects.
  • Support organizational-wide guidance in facility infrastructure planning and operations management.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all maintenance, repair, alterations, and construction projects.
  • Oversee building access and facility ticket submissions, ticket management, and CSR submissions.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Experience applying analytical techniques to develop strategies for planning facility maintenance and utilization.
