About the position

As a Facility Operations Specialist in the Requirements Branch of the Facilities Management Division at Naval Facilities Engineering Command Hawaii, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and operation of facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include providing updates to Supported Command and NAVFAC management regarding facility conditions and ongoing work efforts, including outages. You will regularly meet with Points of Contact (POCs) from Supported Commands to review work efforts and requirements, ensuring that communication is clear and that all parties are informed of the status of various projects. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records in MAXIMO, reflecting a comprehensive inventory of Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) for assigned buildings. You will also validate the Condition Index (CI) calculated by BUILDER and initiate inspections as necessary to ensure that the CI accurately reflects the actual conditions of the facilities. Your role will require you to diagnose problems within facilities and, when necessary, seek assistance from other parts of the NAVFAC organization to resolve these issues. This position is essential for maintaining the operational integrity of facilities and ensuring that they meet the needs of the commands they serve. You will be expected to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and provide timely and accurate information to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide updates to Supported Command and NAVFAC management on facility conditions and work efforts.
  • Meet periodically with Supported Commands' Points of Contact (POC) to review work efforts and requirements.
  • Ensure MAXIMO reflects an accurate CIMU and Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) inventory for assigned buildings.
  • Review and validate the CIMU Condition Index (CI) calculated by BUILDER and initiate inspections as required.
  • Provide initial diagnosis of problems within facilities or obtain assistance from other parts of the NAVFAC organization.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with facility management software such as MAXIMO, BUILDER, and CIMU.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense policies and procedures regarding facility operations.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and assessments of facility conditions.
