About the position

As a Facility Operations Specialist in the Infrastructure Business Operations Department, Facilities & Space Management Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV China Lake, you will play a crucial role in the development and management of facility requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing the needs for facility modifications, replacements, or new constructions, and making informed recommendations based on thorough analysis and findings related to facility allocation, usage, modification, and acquisition processes. You will act as the technical point of contact for facilities projects, providing ongoing liaison support between NAVAIR/NAWCWD and service providers to ensure effective communication and project execution. In this position, you will support the timely execution of all NAWCWD facilities sustainment, restoration, and modernization investments. This includes engaging in facilities master planning and engineering design, ensuring that all projects align with organizational goals and standards. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of building components, project management, and space management, as well as the ability to identify maintenance and repair needs, new construction projects, and alterations to existing facilities. Your expertise will be essential in developing facility and equipment requirements that meet customer needs and in creating project scopes that reflect those requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring that all facility operations are conducted in compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment for all personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop requirements for facility modification, replacement, or construction.
  • Make recommendations based on analysis and findings in facility allocation, use, modification, and acquisition processes.
  • Serve as a facilities project technical point of contact and provide ongoing liaison support between NAVAIR/NAWCWD and service providers.
  • Support the proper and timely execution of all NAWCWD facilities sustainment, restoration, and modernization investments.
  • Engage in facilities master planning and engineering design.
  • Identify maintenance, repair work, new construction, alteration projects, and replacement of existing equipment or facilities services.
  • Develop facility and equipment requirements against customer needs and learn to develop project scopes.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DA-03 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in facilities repair and determining facility requirements for customer needs.
  • Experience in developing appropriate resolutions or establishing initial repairs of service requests.
  • Understanding of space management and space moves and relocation.
