About the position

As a Facility Operations Specialist at NAVAIR, you will play a crucial role in the Infrastructure Business Operations Department, specifically within the Facilities & Space Management Division at the NAVAIR Weapons Division in China Lake. Your primary responsibilities will involve developing requirements for facility modifications, replacements, or new constructions. This position requires a keen analytical mindset to make informed recommendations based on thorough analysis and findings related to facility allocation, usage, modifications, and acquisition processes. In this role, you will act as the technical point of contact for facilities projects, providing essential liaison support between NAVAIR/NAWCWD and various service providers. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that all facilities sustainment, restoration, and modernization investments are executed properly and in a timely manner. This includes a focus on facilities master planning and engineering design, where your contributions will directly impact the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the facilities managed by NAVAIR. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure that facility needs are met and aligned with organizational goals. You will be expected to stay updated on best practices in facility management and apply this knowledge to enhance the operational capabilities of the facilities under your purview.

Responsibilities

  • Develop requirements for facility modification, replacement, or construction.
  • Make recommendations based on analysis and findings in the facility allocation, use, modification, and acquisition processes.
  • Serve as a facilities project technical point of contact and provide ongoing, day-to-day facilities liaison support between NAVAIR/NAWCWD and the service providers.
  • Support the proper and timely execution of all NAWCWD facilities sustainment, restoration, and modernization investments.

Requirements

  • Experience in facility management or operations.
